Vaccination in Pregnancy

After completing this online course, learners will be able to describe the evidence for efficacy and safety of vaccination during pregnancy and the preconception and postpartum periods, to identify the indications and contraindications for various vaccines including travel vaccines during pregnancy and the preconception and postpartum periods, to demonstrate strategies to counsel patients about vaccination during pregnancy, to recognize reasons why patients choose not to vaccinate during pregnancy, to develop an approach to respond to severe adverse reactions associated with vaccinations in pregnancy such as anaphylaxis, and to describe the protocols for safe vaccine storage, handling, and administration.


This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada. You may claim a maximum of 4.0 hours for this course
