This program reviews current knowledge in the safety and best practices in minimally invasive surgery, particularly surgical approaches to laparoscopy, fluid management, and electrosurgery in gynaecology.  Laparoscopic entry techniques have evolved in the understanding of variations in underlying anatomy with implications for device placement and technique. Fluid management during diagnostic or operative hysteroscopy is a balance that involves careful decisions about the type of fluid media, monitoring, and interventions to facilitate surgery while preventing or managing perfusion into the peritoneal cavity or fluid overload. Electrosurgery in gynaecology allows sophisticated approaches to tissue modulation.    This program supports specialists in gynaecology in their knowledge of these aspects of minimally invasive surgery with an individualized understanding of patient risks and benefits.
