Biography
Kathryn Mettler brings over 20 years of professional experience in social-services and community-based health-care. She has worked internationally, holding senior leadership positions in the areas of family and domestic violence, homelessness, and mental health and addictions services. Kathryn is currently a Professor and Program Coordinator for the Mental Health and Addictions Graduate Certificate at Humber College. She also provides professional development workshops and training across North America in the areas of trauma- and violence-informed care, with a focus on sustainable supervisory practices and incident debriefing. Kathryn has a Bachelor degree in Psychology, a Masters degree in Social Work, and is currently a doctoral candidate; her research examines experiences of vicarious trauma and secondary traumatic stress amongst health professionals.
