Biography
Dr. Brown completed Postgraduate training in the UK, working in Internal and Emergency Medicine prior to Anesthesia. He's been on staff at BC Women’s Hospital for the last 8 years, currently in the Department Head role. BC Women’s is a stand-alone tertiary care centre, dedicated to Women’s Health, with 7000 births a year. Dr. Brown is an Assistant Professor at UBC and involved on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia (IJOA) and an Obstetric Anesthesia Editor for Anaesthesia Tutorial of the Week (World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiolgists). Dr. Brown has an interest in Medical Leadership and Service Development, my projects at BC Women’s have included: instituting a Modified Early Obstetric Warning Score (MEOWs), advocating for the role of Anesthesia Assistants, and incorporating Cell Salvage into routine practice. His current focus is around instituting elements of ERAS for Cesarean Section.
