Biography
A Congolese national, Dr. KAWENDE BORA Joséphine is an obstetrician and gynecologist. She is currently 65 years old, married, a mother, and a grandmother. With more than 30 years of work experience in a range of fields, she held various positions such as obstetrician and gynecologist at Kinshasa’s Cliniques universitaires and Ndjili’s general hospital, as well as manager of the United Nations Population Fund's maternal health, family planning, and gender-based violence programs. She is a member of the Société congolaise de gynécologie et obstétrique, she trains instructors in emergency obstetrical and neonatal care, family planning, maternal health in a context of humanitarian crisis, and she is an instructor for the ALARM International Program. She is a consultant in the maternal health and family planning fields for the assessment of programs and projects and the development of health-based training modules and sectoral strategies. She is a teacher and demonstrator at the Institut supérieur des techniques médicales in the midwife training team.
