Biography
Rebecca (she/her) is a settler in treaty 6 territory (Amiskwacîwâskahikan). She works as generalist OB/GYN at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. She completed her medical school, residency, and research training at the University of Toronto. Her clinical, research, and teaching practices are centred around anti-oppressive practices within obstetrics and gynecology. This includes a focus on rural and remote obstetrics, Indigenous peoples’ health, care of patients affected by problematic substance use in pregnancy, and trauma informed care. Her life outside of medicine is a (usually) fun mess of dog fur, muddy boots, and squished cheerios.
