Biography
After a bachelor of Engineering Sciences in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Rajakumar completed a Doctorate in Medicine and a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western University. This was followed by a 2-yr fellowship through the AAGL in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery with a special focus on endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain as well as a fellowship in Simulation and Medical Education at the Department of Innovation in Medical Education, University of Ottawa. Currently, Dr. Rajakumar is the Section Head of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of Calgary. His focus is complex surgery performed endoscopically, endometriosis, uterine disorders and chronic pain. Additionally, he manages the outpatient hysteroscopy and minor surgery program at South Health Campus and is the Major Gyn/Benign Gyn Lead for the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery program for the province of Alberta.
