	Biography Dr. Elio Dario Garcia is the President of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist of Canada (SOGC) and President Elect of the Association des Obstericiens et Gynécologues du Quebec (AOGQ). Dr. Garcia has been a committed member of the Board of the SOGC since June 2016 and Vice-President since June 2017. For his duties with AOGQ, Dr. Garcia has served as Secretary and Director of “Effectifs” of AOGQ and is currently acting as treasurer. He was the Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at CiSSSO Gatineau Hospital from 2013 to 2017. Since 2015, he has also been a frequent lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at McGill University. Dr. Garcia completed his medical school training at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina, in November 1994. After that, he travelled to Spain where he received his medical and surgical certification from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain in January 1998. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Lagomaggiore Hospital in Mendoza, Argentina where he spent his early career in rural obstetrics. Dr. Garcia then picked up and moved to Montreal in June 2002 where he did his recertification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and received his equivalent certification to practice by the end of 2003 from the College des Médecins du Quebec. From there he joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Gatineau Hospital in January 2004. Disclosure 1.
