Biography
Dr. Annick Poirier is a Urogynecologist at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. She also practices at the Lois Hole Hospital Chronic Pelvic Pain program. She is a Clinical Lecturer within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, and Dentistry at University of Alberta. Dr. Poirier graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University. She worked as a general Obstetrics/Gynecology physician for 5 years on the Gaspe Peninsula. She completed a Urogynecology Fellowship through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Dr. Poirier is the current Edmonton Zone Section Chief for Urogynecology and Chronic Pelvic Pain. Her research interests includes qualitative methodology, global health, access to care, surgical outcomes and chronic pelvic pain.
