Dr. Jean de la Croix Mutabazi

Biography
Dr. Jean de la Croix Mutabazi is a Consultant Obstetrician-Gynecologist at the Butare University Teaching Hospital (CHUB) and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He holds a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Rwanda.
Dr. Mutabazi is also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, with over six years of experience in clinical practice and academic teaching. He serves as a national trainer in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) through the collaboration between RSOG and SOGC and is actively involved in the SRHR Rwanda project, funded by Global Affairs Canada, which supports training, mentorship, and capacity strengthening in maternal and reproductive health services.
His professional interests include maternal health research, and he has contributed to several publications in the field of maternal and reproductive health.
