Dr. Steven Fleischman MD, MBA, FACOG

 

Biography

Steven Fleischman, MD, FACOG, is an ob-gyn in private practice with Sound Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he acts as the managing partner, and serves as the associate chief of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Albany Medical College and completed his residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He has been in private practice providing obstetric and gynecologic care for the past 24 years. In 2021 he received his master’s in business administration from Southern Connecticut State University. Dr. Fleischman has been actively involved in organized medicine and has held key roles in multiple medical organizations, including the Connecticut State Medical Society and the American Medical Association. He was legislative chair of the Connecticut State Medical Society for seven years, after which he served as the chair of their governing board. At the AMA he was a member and later chair of the ACOG Delegation, and also served on AMPAC, the AMA’s political action committee. Dr. Fleischman has also been extensively involved with ACOG, having served as national Junior Fellow chair of the JFCAC, Early-Career Fellow at large (then called Young Physician at large) to the board of directors, Ob-GynPAC Committee member and chair, District I treasurer and chair, and ACOG national treasurer before starting his term as president-elect. In his community, Dr. Fleischman has served as an elected member and chair of the board of education in his town, president of his synagogue, and president of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven. He and his wife, Andrea, live in Connecticut, where they raised their four children.
