Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Awareness

In fall 2006, the SOGC unveiled its "Spread the Word, Not the Disease" public awareness campaign to educate Canadians about the human papillomavirus (HPV), a common sexually transmitted virus that can cause warts, lesions and cervical and genital cancers.

Campaign initiatives include:

hpvinfo.cahpvinfo.ca

The centrepiece of the public awareness campaign is hpvinfo.ca, a comprehensive website that provides teens, adults, parents, teachers and health professionals with information about HPV, what it is and what they can do about it.

Visit www.hpvinfo.ca

Online CME

The SOGC is pleased to offer accredited online CME programs on HPV, available to member and non-member health professionals free of charge. The modules offer comprehensive information on hpv, as well as treatment and prevention strategies. Modules include:

  • Linking Human Papillomavirus to the Practice of Immunization
  • HPV: Epidemiology and clinical consequences
