International Women's Health Symposium:Annual Clinical Meeting 2007

Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health:
Looking Back, Looking Forward

Health-care experts from around the world convened at the International Women’s Health Symposium on June 21 as a part of the 2007 Annual Clinical Meeting in Ottawa. With the theme of “Looking forward, looking back” these international experts discussed the past 20 years of safe motherhood initiatives, sharing successes and challenges in the fight for safe mothers and newborns worldwide. With the third decennial safe motherhood conference “Women Deliver” slated for this coming October in London, the symposium focused on similar themes, including mobilizing political will for safe motherhood.
