Join us in Halifax for our 65th ACM!
Welcome Message from the SOGC President
As President of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, it is my sincere pleasure to invite you to join us in Halifax for our 65th Annual Clinical Meeting, hosted June 17-21, 2009.
The Maritimes are recognized worldwide for their remarkable hospitality – a place where visitors are welcomed with open arms in a warm and comforting fashion. At this year’s Annual Clinical Meeting, we intend to make this hospitality a top priority. Our major entertainment event will feature the renowned Maritime band the Barra MacNeils, and will be hosted at historic Pier 21, the site where over a million new immigrants first set foot in Canada.
Halifax is a destination city for a number of cruise lines, with over 300 ships docking in Halifax during the summer and fall. The city boasts world-class restaurants, theaters and museums. The host committee is recommending a wide variety of entertainment options for all ages, including day trips to the south shore, golfing and sea kayaking adventures.
The academic and CME components of this year’s meeting promise to be better than ever. The meeting is the product of over a year of direct planning by staff and medical experts, and will draw on SOGC’s decades of experience providing quality continuing education. The result is a truly distinct CME event, uniquely shaped over time to meet the needs of Canada’s ob/gyns and sexual and reproductive health professionals.
It is my hope that you will choose to join us this year in Halifax for a fun-filled and educationally rewarding experience, provided in the traditional warm and welcoming spirit of the Maritimes.
Sincerely,
