About the program
The SOGC Safe Obstetrical Care Program is a new and innovative way to help our SOGC members enhance the safety of obstetrical care in Canada through education. In collaboration with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), we have curated a selection of evidence-based educational resources to specifically address safe obstetrical care.
What types of educational resources are available?
Participants have access to a selection of virtual and face to face educational activities, including eLearning activities, workshops, webinars, podcasts, forums, and CME meetings.
Points system
The program will be based on a points system. A total of 75 points must be obtained over a 3 year period in order to receive the certificate. Each educational activity included in the program is assigned a specific number of points that can be accrued to meet the program requirements.
Mandatory and elective components
The program offers both mandatory and elective components. The mandatory components ensure all participants cover the same fundamentals of safe obstetrical care. They include ALARM and selected CMPA eLearning activities. The elective components are varied, and allow participants to tailor their learning to their particular needs.
Tracking progress
After you complete each activity, please click the link here to provide your information and to upload your proof of completion (which can be a screenshot of the final page, a certificate, etc).
Certificate of participation
Participants who successfully obtain 75 points within a 3 year period will receive a Certificate of Participation.
How do I get started?
All you need to do is submit your certificate of completion of any of the educational offerings from the list below to www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZVBSFKP. We will add your points to your profile so that you can see how close you are to completion of the entire program. Once you have obtained your 75 points within 3 years, your certificate of completion will be issued.
