  • Relate the concepts of feedback, coaching, and debriefing;
  • Apply a practical simulation-based debriefing framework when carrying out learning conversations in various settings;
  • Describe a range of strategies that can be utilized in the analysis phase of a debrief;
  • Address common challenges that can arise during learning conversations using debriefing skills.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand barriers that people with physical disabilities encounter when seeking pregnancy care;
  • Develop an approach to antenatal, labour delivery and postpartum care for people with physical disabilities;
  • Apply practical strategies to providing accessible pregnancy care for people for people with physical disabilities in your own practice.

Session Details

During this talk we will explore how to incorporate the Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommendations around appropriate health care for Indigenous populations.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Start on a path towards allyship and cultural humility when working with pregnant and parenting Indigenous women;
  • Create space for Indigenous care providers in the existing health care system;
  • Appreciate the importance of incorporating traditional knowledge around pregnancy, birth and infant care as a part of providing culturally safe care for Indigenous women.
