Biography
Dr. Emma Skolnik is a third year OB/GYN resident at the University of Toronto. She is the junior resident representative for the UofT OB/GYN Advocacy Committee and recently designed an advocacy selective rotation for her peers. Emma is also very passionate about, and involved in, global health initiatives. Her most recent endeavor, in collaboration with some of her PGY3 colleagues (Dr. Alisha Olsthoorn, Dr. Jessica Smith, Dr. Chelsie Warshafsky, Dr. Emily Delpero and Dr. Sara Porisky), is a resident-run social justice campaign - The UofT OBGYN HPV Advocacy Initiative. This initiative provides education to at-risk citizens and healthcare providers, while addressing HPV vaccination awareness and access, through a multifaceted campaign targeting individual knowledge gaps, systemic inequity and public health policy.
