Biography
Dr. Eliane Shore is a member of the division of Gynaecologic Surgery and Pelvic Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. During her fellowship, she completed a Master’s of Science at the University of Toronto with a focus on surgical education and simulation. Dr. Shore has a diverse practice including low risk obstetrics, advanced gynecological surgery, colposcopy and management of vulvar disorders. Dr. Shore’s research interests include surgical simulation, surgical education, resident selection, and clinical gynecology. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and actively involved in the Residency Program. She currently runs a proficiency-based laparoscopy curriculum for the PGY1 residents at UofT. Additionally she runs the skills component of the CaRMS selection process and is involved in the simulation curriculum for residents at all levels. One of her current research project involves introducing an operating room black box into the Gynecology operating rooms for improvement in surgical performance and patient safety. Dr Shore is actively involved in the St Michael’s Hospital Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship program.
