Impacted Fetal Head, Second-Stage Cesarean Delivery

Impacted Fetal Head, Second-Stage Cesarean Delivery
An impacted fetal head is a challenging situation during a cesarean delivery and significantly increases the risk for maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. This committee opinion provides evidence-informed approaches to disengage an impacted fetal head during cesarean delivery and reduce harms. After reviewing the committee opinion, SOGC members may complete the Guideline Resource Kit which includes an online quiz that will contribute towards continuing medical education credits, and downloadable resources such as a figure summarizing the discussed techniques.
