Biography
Taryn S. Taylor, MD, PhD, FRCSC is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics & Gynecology at London Health Sciences Centre and a Scientist at the Centre for Education Research & Innovation (CERI), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. She earned a PhD in Health Professions Education at Maastricht University, Netherlands, while completing her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Western University. Her doctoral thesis explored fatigue as a social construct as it relates to work hour reform in postgraduate medical education. This research was awarded the prestigious PhD prize for best doctoral research by the Association of Medical Education in Europe. Dr. Taylor’s ongoing research focuses on exploring the nature and implications of fatigue in clinical performance and investigating innovative ways to improve psychological safety and within healthcare teams using simulation and qualitative methodologies.
